Looking back at our service event for our friends at Lewis and Clark School in the Bronx, NY. For their Field Day on Tuesday, June 3, we cooked and served hamburgers to 600, including students, teachers and staff. Support for the day came from our Bronx Rotary Foundation.

Lewis and Clark School provides highly specialized instructional support for these young people with significant challenges, such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, significant cognitive delays, emotional disabilities, sensory impairments, and multiple disabilities. Students aged 11 to 22 are educated across five locations. In the past, we celebrated Thanksgiving at Lewis and Clark School, providing a turkey dinner with all the trimmings to part of the student population. Then - as this past week - we give thanks: for the students, teachers and staff from Lewis and Clark, for our generous hosts at the Castle Hill YMCA, for the young people from our Rotary family who helped us, and for the gift of service that Rotary offers us to share with all every day!
