OPEN HEARTS GALA ......... DINNER DANCE2007 Celebrating the Gift of Life! We honored Dr, Suvro Sett of Westchester Medical Center in the spring at our President's/Paul Harris Dinner. Dr. Samuel Weinstein of Montefiore Medical Center was originally to be honored at the same event, but his busy schedule did not permit it. This is how the Open Hearts Gala was born. Dr. Weinstein is the Director of Cardio Thoracic Surgery at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center. He was honored with a special Paul Harris Fellow for his selfless committment of time and effort to the Gift of Life program. He has operated on 3 children for the Bronx Rotary Club alone. We also honored his Cardio Thoracic Team and the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center for their outstanding service and care. Five of the seven children sponsored by Bronx Rotary have been operated on at Montefiore. The evening was another big success with the added surprise of Dr. Weinstein donating $10,000 to the Gift of Life. A wonderful time was had by all, but, let the pictures tell the story...
